Be His Helper

There is so much help needed by our less fortunate youths and families in Vietnam.  In order to serve these needs, a few lay persons, in partnership with the religious sisters of the Congregation of the Lovers of the Holy Cross of the Diocese of Phan Thiet in Vietnam, established Be His Helper in August of 2022 in the County of Santa Clara, California, USA.  Be His Helper allows the lay persons and sisters to reach out to donors and patrons internationally.

Following in the footsteps of Jesus Christ, Be His Helper intends to serve the poor through four main ministries:

  1. Charity: Free housing and care of the poor.

  2. Education: Free boarding and education, including disabled youths experiencing deafness and muteness.

  3. Medical: Distribution of medications and basic medical services.

  4. Community Support: Developing vocational skills.

The Congregation is a primary partner of Be His Helper, offering advice, support, and resources.  The Congregation is also one of the recipients of funds raised through Be His Helper, and in turn the sisters of this Congregation administer and carry out the services to help the less fortunate in Vietnam.

The Congregation of the Lovers of the Holy Cross of the Diocese of Phan Thiet was established in 1983 in the Southeast Region of Vietnam.  Today, the Congregation has 26 novices and over 500 sisters globally.  In Vietnam, the sisters serve 72 communities found primarily in the Diocese of Phan Thiet and in various adjacent dioceses in Sai Gon, Phu Cuong, Xuan Loc, Da Lat, Kontum, Ban Me Thuot, and others.  Overseas, the Congregation has 5 communities in Italy and 1 in the U.S.
